Product Details

This lovely Funayuki is forged from Yasuki White #3 (shirogami) steel with a soft iron cladding, with a Poplar wood handle. This is an excellent performer for those entering the world of single bevel knives.

Wondering about the difference between a Funayuki and a Deba - A Deba is a heavy, thick-bladed knife designed for butchering fish, including breaking down bones. A Funayuki, on the other hand, is a thinner, lighter knife, suitable for filleting and other tasks on smaller fish and even vegetables

Note - high carbon blades like this will need to be kept dry when not in use, to prevent rusting. They will also love a coating of knife oil when they aren't going to be used for a while.

These blades aren't being produced anymore, so when they're gone, that's it.
